Hunter’s 2023 Rendezvous & Sale August 25-27th
2023 Hunter's Rendezvous!
This is what is affectionately referred to as our "big sale." This year's event will mark the 26th Annual Hunter’s Rendezvous, although we did take a short break from 2020-2022 due to restrictions and supply chain issues. We are confident that things are moving in the right direction as far as our ability to stock a hefty supply of outdoor goods as well as our ability to special order items for customers. The supply chain is certainly not perfect yet, but as of this post, our ammo shelves are full and we are seeing pallets of new firearms coming in the door. We will be ready for the Big Sale!
The Rendezvous event started out small as most good things do. While still working the gun department in the hardware store in the late 1990s, Rob wanted to give back to the community in the form of a fun event. In those days, the inventory was not as vast as it is today, so he moved all the store’s guns into the Ennis High School and had a sale! Since that time, the event has grown and has become an all-out street party with half the store out on Main Street under big tents and over 45 vendors on-site.
This is the key to the Rendezvous...the vendors. The vendors representing each manufacturer come into Shedhorn armed with intense facts and experience about their specific brand. They know the line, they know what will work for you, and they help make the event truly special. Plus, it expands the Shedhorn workforce and allows us to service more customers.
At this year's event, we are introducing a speaker's tent, which is the first time this has ever been done! We are busy scheduling industry experts for presentations and interactions that help you plan for your hunt and experience your hunt safely and with confidence. (We may even have pack llamas here on-site!). We want to help you prepare in the best way possible to help drive you to be successful in the field, however you choose to measure success. Our full guest speaker schedule will be announced at a later date; sign up for our newsletter and keep an eye on your inbox.
The event has historically always been in August and we will continue that tradition this year. We’ll be open FRIDAY afternoon 2-8pm and all day SATURDAY & SUNDAY. The anticipation of the event makes it a struggle to stay closed until 2pm on Friday, but we may have a special giveaway for the first 50 customers willing to wait it out!
